5th Annual David Anderson Benefit Concert presented June 3, 2010

The fifth annual spring chamber music concert to benefit the Music Fund in memory of David Anderson '96 was presented June 3, 2010 in the Big Room at High Mowing School. Performers included Elise MacDonald (flute), Mark Ferguson (piano), Caitlin Gillam (voice), Christian Hoscheck '12 (viola), Nicole Perez '10 (viola), Fana Takahashi '10 (cello), and Zoë Falk '10 (cello).

The David Anderson Fund was founded in memory of David Anderson’96, who passed away from leukemia several years after graduating from the school. David's accomplished cello playing and the importance of music in his life inspired his parents, Mike and Seraphin Anderson, to establish a scholarship fund in his honor for High Mowing music students. In 2006, Townsend Gregg ’06 and Henry Lewers ’08 initiated the David Anderson Fund Concert Series with a concert on May 31, David’s birthday. This year marks the fifth annual concert of the series. CDs of the concerts from 2006 and 2007 are available for sale, with all proceeds benefitting the David Anderson Music Fund. 

4th Annual David Anderson Benefit Concert presented May 28, 2009

The fourth annual spring chamber music concert to benefit the David Anderson Music Fund was presented on Thursday, May 28 at 7:30 PM in the Big Room at High Mowing School. Performers included Jeremy Gillam ’09 (voice), Henry Lewers ’08 (piano), Nicole Perez ’10 (viola), and Elise MacDonald (flute). The all-romantic program included works by Brahms, Faure, Rachmaninov, and Schumann.

2008 David Anderson Benefit Chamber Music Concert

On Friday, May 30, the Advanced Independent Chamber Music group at High Mowing School performed its 3rd annual concert to benefit the David Anderson Music Fund. Performing were seniors Henry Lewers (Piano), Michiko Takahashi (Violin), and Sophie Abrahams-Dematte (Violin), sophomore Nicole Perez (Viola), and alumnus Townsend Gregg '06 (Cello). The program featured works by Brahms, Mozart, Schubert, Kreisler, and others.

2007 David Anderson Benefit Chamber Music Concert

Michiko Takahashi (violin), Sophie Abrahams-Dematte (violin), and Henry Lewers (piano), all from the class of 2008, gave a concert tonight in High Mowing School's Big Room to benefit the David Anderson Music Fund. Works of Saint Saens, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Prokofiev, and Bach, among others were performed.

2006 David Anderson Benefit Chamber Music Concert

In spring of 2006, cellist Townsend Gregg ('06) and pianist Henry Lewers ('08) gave a concert, marking the culmination of their year of work together in their independent chamber music class. The program included works of Bruch, Saint-Saens, Brahms, Faure, and others. Proceeds from donations made at the concert benefited the David Anderson Music Fund.
